Fly in vs Fly out lodges !

What separates us from our competition is our prime central location, our daily fishing program and our great value.

The main difference in a fly-out lodge vs a fly-in lodge is about $2500 a week in cost due to the cost of flying out to a different crowded location each day, as 90% of the big name fly-out lodges have shitty home fishing waters most of the year or no fishing at all where there lodge is located?  and they just happen to forget to tell you about the crappy weather in SW Alaska during the summer to fly in, and the fog & weather delays and missed days of fishing at $1000 a day, as there are no refunds when you can't fly.

Common Sense Fishing

This never made any sense to me to build a million dollar  fly-out fishing lodge in a bad fishing location but it is the norm. As for our fly in fishing lodge program you fly in to a great river location lodge and we offer all of our daily fishing activities centrally located on one of the 3 top rivers and lake outlets that are within 20 miles of us. The Kukaklek and Nonvianuk rivers join together 6 miles above our lodge at the confluence to form the Alagnak. There is not another lodge in Alaska that has more easily accessible daily jet boat  fishing access than us without wasting hours of time flying to so called remote locations and then landing there to find out that there are 5  planes there ahead of you. We can access over 500 miles of rivers lakes and tributaries all from one location via our modern jet boat fleet with some of the least amount of fishing pressure anywhere in Katmai Park, due to the fact that float planes cannot physically land due to shallow water and safety reasons within 25 miles of our lodge on the river and no boats can be stored in the upper 40 miles due to the Alagnak river being in Katmai National Parks Wild & Scenic corridor.

Getting Started in the Morning at 7am

A typical day consist's of waking up around 7am and being greeted at your door by a smiling hostess with a hot beverage or Juice of your choice, after waking up and meandering over to the dining room and sitting down to a home cooked hot breakfast of freshly made Belgian waffles topped with whip cream and strawberries with a side of reindeer sausage, for the more healthy minded guest's we offer each morning full grain cereals, Oatmeal and bagels and a fruit tray set out in the dining room. You also have the option too sleep in as you are on vacation and there is no rushing around here and no crowded fishing to rush off to. Your guide will set your trip to your personel schedule each day if you wish.

After breakfast a large deli style meat-cheese and home made bread tray is brought out so each guest can pack there lunch exactly the way they like it,, the guides will have taken your drink and snack order the night before to make sure you have enough of your favorite drinks.

Daily Fishing Program

The guides will be waiting in there boats ready at 8am waiting to take you on an unforgettable fishing adventure. Once you load up they will give you a 5 minute safety briefing and explain to you what to expect during the day and how long of a boat ride it is till the start of fishing. You will fish all morning  then normally stop around noon for a 1/2 hour lunch break and rest from all the action. You will fish the rest of the day and return to the lodge by 5pm, for safety reasons our guides have been assigned a beat system and for any reason if your boat is not on the dock by 5:15 we send out a boat looking for you in case of a mechanical failure or unforseen mishap.
